Bethlehem (Palestine)

An International Center of Prayer for Peace in the Holy Land and in the world was established in cooperation with the Custody of the Holy Land on March 3rd, 2016 in the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament by the Milk Grotto Church in Bethlehem.

On that day took place a solemn inauguration of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the altar “The Jerusalem Triptych”, which had been relocated from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. The concelebrated Holy Mass was presided over by the Vicar General of the Custody of the Holy Land, Rev. Dobromir Jasztal. The priests and religious sisters, as well as a group of pilgrims from Poland participated in it too. During the ceremony, the President of the Association, Mr. Piotr Ciołkiewicz handed over to Rev. Dobromir Jasztal the “Act of Donation”, which states that the altar “The Jerusalem Triptych” is a material sign of a spiritual Work of “The 12 Stars in the Crown of Mary Queen of Peace” whose mission is the apostolate of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for peace in the Holy Land and in the whole world.

Tradition has it that the “Milk Grotto”, located near the Basilica of the Nativity, sheltered the Holy Family during their flight into Egypt. For this reason for centuries numerous pilgrims and tourists have been visiting it, particularly, the families who long to have a baby. Adjacent to the Grotto, a contemporary Chapel of Perpetual Adoration is open to all from 8 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. The care for constant presence day and night before Eucharistic Lord is taken by cloistered sisters from the Congregation of Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament.

We wholeheartedly encourage all pilgrims visiting the site of our Savior’s birth to stop in the Adoration Chapel by the Milk Grotto to pray for peace in the Holy Land and in the world.
